As a lean agile professional, I have been a part of busy teams or what I call treadmill teams.
Always in motion but never leaving the location. It’s easy to confuse activity with productivity. being busy rather than impactful.
A Busy team is characterized by:

Constant activity: Always doing something but rarely completing meaningful work
Loves Buzzwords: They spend more time socializing buzzwords and mere corporate jargons but rarely embracing the mindset
Communication Overload: Always in meetings, team chats, emails but more confusions and no clarity.
High stress levels: Always high pressured, creating an environment of fear, uncertainty, doubts, threats, lies and chaos yet the efforts are not leading to any results.
Metrics Manipulation: Use data to feel good but mask the true story of the data and underlining behaviors.

An Impactful team on the other hand
Aligns every tasks to the organization’s strategic goals.
Engage in discussions that lead to clear, actionable insights and steps.
Demonstrates Visible, measurable Outcomes and impacts
Uses data as an insight into the true state of things and behaviors.

Agile adopts a culture that values progress over mere activity; that empowers teams to work smarter, not harder and a mindset that permeates every aspect of teamwork and leadership.

Organizations can turn a BUSY team into an IMPACTFUL one by breaking down silos, encouraging collaboration, and focusing on delivering customer value.
